ALERT! ARTISTS LET LOOSE OVERSEAS

The countdown has begun for Korean International Art Fair 2011! In late September the gallery team and Victoria Reichelt will be heading to Seoul for the gallery’s first international art fair. 2011 is the Australian and Korean year of friendship so as the featured country at KIAF 2011, a herd of 19 Australian galleries will be participating.

Juan Ford is off to New York this July to undertake a residency at the OMI International Arts Center, Columbia County, N.Y. U.S.A. It was awarded by the Art Omi Australia Committee. See www.artomi.org for updates and info.

Local news: Daniel Dorall can be seen at Twenty by Thirty Gallery which is located at 20 Presgrave Place (enter via Howey Place off Little Collins Street) Melbourne. Dorall has on ongoing fascination with mazes and miniatures which can be seen in Lot’s Wife which opens on June 1 until 30 June.

New addition to the gallery! Joel Zika is featured in Dreamweavers, a group exhibition curated by Simon Gregg. Winding a path of the fantastic, dreams, nightmares and darkness, the exhibition is now open at Gippsland Art Gallery, Sale, VIC 14 May – 10 July 2011. The exhibition will be touring around the country for next next two years! – McClelland Gallery, Swan Hill Regional Gallery VIC, Maitland Regional Gallery, Western Plains Cultural Centre NSW, Redland Art Gallery QLD & Plimsoll Gallery TAS.

Roy Ananda architectural sculptures are featured at the Jam Factory, Adelaide. Imagining Interiors is a group exhibition on until 10 July. Curator Wendy Walker has invited artists to create new work surrounding the theme on contemporary Gothic literature.
