"The uncanniness in Tadich’s paintings lies in what they don’t depict, as much as what they do. Through subtle evocation and suggestion they invite the spectator to fill in the blanks, with the theatrical force of her work deriving from what we project onto it ourselves. It doesn’t matter if you’ve never actually been lost in the Australian bush in the dead of night. Tadich puts us there, in that environment, amongst the subtle shades of moonlit void, amongst the fragrant scent of foliage and earth underfoot, and immersed in total, complete silence.
