Victoria Reichelt

BIOGRAPHY

Victoria Reichelt studied Fine Art at the Queensland College of Art, Griffith University, Brisbane, graduating in 2005 having completed her Doctorate of Visual Arts with a semester research exchange at the Edinburgh College of Art, Scotland. She has been shortlisted for a number of major prizes including the Sulman Art Prize (at the Art Gallery of New South Wales), the Fletcher Jones Art Prize, the RBS Emerging Artist Award and the Metro Art Award.

Recently she has been awarded an Australia Council New Work Grant, the Linden Innovators Award and the people's choice prizes in both the RBS Emerging Artist Award and the Metro Art Award. Her work has been included in the exhibitions Covered at the Canberra Contemporary Art Space, the Red Exhbition at the Sherman Contemporary Art Foundation and Contemporary Australia: Optimism at the Gallery of Modern Art (GoMA) in Brisbane.

In 2011, Victoria Reichelt exhibited at the Korean International Art Fair with dianne tanzer gallery + projects. Her solo exhibition entitled Shift was a great success, as her work is now featured in private collections across Asia. In 2013, Reichelt exhibited again in Asia with a successful show at Art Stage Singapore.

Victoria was the winner of the 2013 Sir John Sulman Prize for genre painting at the Art Gallery of New South Wales, and was a finalist in the 2012 Rockhampton Gold Award (Rockhampton Art Gallery, QLD) and the Mosman Art Prize, Mosman Art Gallery, NSW in 2011.
